Congrats on the tablet! Make sure you install the driver for it. I won't be making that mistake again. For two years I used that thing without the proper driver, and once I installed the driver, I was AMAZED at what kind of difference it made.
I hate graphic design. I'm working on a piece right now, designing a T-shirt for a local racing team. I'm working with vectors, and I'm hating every second of it. I charged them $240.00 for the design, but now I wish I had charged a LOT more. Either they would have said "No thanks, we'll have someone else do it for less" which is good for me cause I don't have to stress over it, or more money would have made it worth it. If they like the result, they plan on passing another job to me for a different racing team, but I'm not sure I want to take it. We'll see I guess.
I didn't know graphic design had "rules", but then again I'm not a graphic designer, just an artist who dabbles in many different things at this point.
I know what you mean about inspiration. It is so fleeting! One minute it's there, next minute it's gone if I don't have all the materials ready.

Wow that is some intersting stuff there, you had a-lot to endure. It's a shame that countries make such harsh decisions effecting the people who actually keep their country thriving. It happens everyday here as well, but nothing to the extent of what you must have experienced. Well I am glad that you are here otherwise I wouldn't have anything pretty to look at (lol).
Oh I got a wacom tab too!! Only used it once so far heehee..I bought it because I had money and figured it would help me in the future with my design, but lately I have been heavily focused on spreads and layouts, and type!! Type is insane..so many rules to it, it's flippin type. I'll tell you there are more rules in graphic design then there are to driving (lol).
Yeah I really need to get working on something outside of the realm of digital art, I get enspired and then..boof I am out of it before I get out of the car on my ride home from work.

Yeah I miss you and a few others. I just got a journal from a really talented kid and he is freaking out, I want to respond to him, but I just don't know what to say. I think I will need a day to sit on it. I will be back in a few days..maybe I will post something older just to post..haha

Lately I've fallen behind too! I went away for two weeks, and ever since I came back it's been a nightmare trying to catch up with comments and deviations. It's insane. Yeah, I've uploaded a lot of stuff since you last saw my gallery. I went crazy especially after I got the Wacom tablet working properly.
I left Slovakia for political reasons. My mom, dad, sister and I moved to Germany in 88/89 to escape Communism, and left Germany in 90/91 to go to the U.S. just for the hell of it. They offered us German citizenship or a U.S. greencard, so my parents decided to be adventurous and move to the U.S. Communism in Czechoslovakia fell in 1993 (I think), and then they decided to split the country into Czech Republic and Slovak Republic peacefully. That made it possible for us to travel back. Took us 10 years to return, and ever since, my parents have been traveling there about once to three times a year. I've only been back there three times so far. It's getting better there every year, so it's starting to pull me back if you know what I mean.

How nice of you to make time for us! That's really sweet of you. I just hope you can make time to create for yourself/us again! School is a time-killer. I remeber all the projects, and the studying..... ughhh... I know what you mean. Although not too difficult, it's very time consuming. Good luck with your projects my dear. You a slump!!! It's bound to happen sometime considering you produce about 100 pieces of work per week (lol). Anway I was reading your journal about home last week and I felt so sad for you. Why did you leave (if you don't mind my asking if so I understand). I have to go through and look at all your new (old) works..lol
I am going to try and start to time manage a bit so I can at least stop on once a week to say hi and see what you have made. I keep in touch with one other person from this site, you two are my favorite people. Very nice to talk to and grounded.
Yeah I have been pretty hectic, it's funny because when I worked full time and no school I seemed to have so much more time. I swear the projects are what really bog me down. I have 3 layout designs this week and 2 stories to read plus a 3 page essay..meh to school. I haven't drawn anything new for some time now. That is also something I need to allow time for ... I probably can't even draw anymore (lol) Anyway honey keep in touch I will respond to things eventually
